Back in episode 77 we chatted about a few movies with "breakfast" in the title. In that spirit, this time around we watched a handful with "dinner" in the title. We kick things off with the most recent installment in the fast and furious franchise. If you're interested in our thoughts on the first 7 movies, check out episode 90. Enjoy!
IN THEATERS The Fate of the Furious - Fun like the rest of the series. THEME MOVIES The Man Who Came to Dinner - Are you a good witch or a bad witch? Guess Who's Coming to Dinner - Sidney Poitier? Dinner with Friends - And dinner with ex-friends. Dinner for Schmucks - Just no. No new movie this episode. Instead, we chat about 6 older movies--one for each lead cast member of Friends. You've probably gleaned over the last 100+ episodes that it's Hannah's favorite show and we're perpetually working our way through the series when we need to take the edge off of a dramatic or scary movie, we're eating dinner immediately before recording, Anne is dying Hannah's hair, etc. Their film careers aren't quite as appealing. Have a listen.
The Pallbearer (David Schwimmer) - 1990s version of The Graduate? Hanging Up (Lisa Kudrow) - The metaphor is pretty heavy-handed. The Shrink Is In (Courteney Cox) - Here's to Courteney Cox Arquette. Birds of America (Matthew Perry) - Not bad. Also nothing special. Lovesick (Matt LeBlanc) - Happy that the TV show (unaffiliated) is higher in the google search than this movie. Cake (Jennifer Aniston) - Folks are right. This one is worth seeing.
